UNSGSA Queen Máxima to Engage in Strategic Meetings for Financial Inclusion in New York, Washington DC

Her Majesty Queen Máxima of the Netherlands, the United Nations Secretary-General’s Special Advocate for Inclusive Finance for Development (UNSGSA), is scheduled for high-level meetings in New York and Washington DC on January 11-12, 2023.

In New York on January 11, Queen Máxima will engage in separate bilateral meetings with United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Administrator Achim Steiner. Discussion is expected to cover strategic priorities, upcoming activities, and opportunities to collaborate, especially considering the important role of financial inclusion in meeting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Following her New York engagements, Queen Máxima will travel to Washington DC. She will speak with International Monetary Fund Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva and World Bank President Ajay Banga on January 12. The Special Advocate will also convene members of the UNSGSA Reference Group for a meeting.
